SORRY, NO BOXES IN 2025

Our Farm in a box program is on hold for the 2025 season

In its place, we launched a gardening course that teaches all of our methods start to finish including how to plan, start, grow, harvest, and preserve your own food. Essentially, how to grow your own Farm-in-a-Box! This gardening course has a strong emphasis on food security and storage, along with all of our tips and tricks for no-till, chemical and pesticide free gardening. And bonus, we will be including all of our garden plans, crop notes, favorite varieties, seed starting schedule, and more! Click the link for more information

food as it should be.

Farm Fresh Eggs

A beautiful array of colorful eggs loaded with nutrients you just don’t get from factory raised. The bloom {outer protective layer} is still intact. This means you might get eggs with speckles of dirt on the shell in exchange for a protective coating that doesn’t allow bacteria to penetrate the egg. You can only get non-washed eggs in Washington straight from a farm, which means even “organic” grocery store eggs have a lot of bacteria that’s broken down the good nutrients eggs should have to offer! You can display our eggs on the counter for up to a month, no need to refrigerate unless you want to extend the life by a few extra weeks.

Vegetables

Part of the appeal of gardening, to us, is how many fun things we can grow that can’t be bought in stores or farmer’s markets! We will be growing many familiar favorites, plus quite a few fun and different varieties. Here’s a few examples: purple potatoes, dragon’s tongue beans, pink celery, red and yellow carrots, red okra, peas originating from King Tut’s tomb, cinnamon basil and more! We’ll also have all the makings for garden salads & salsas – two summer essentials in our house.

Fruit

We have some really fun surprises up our sleeves for this one! We will have some delicious melons like cantalope and honeydew that everyone knows. But we’ll also have some that are sure to bring out the child in all of us such as dragon’s egg cucumbers and Tigger melons. We will also have a hot pepper challenge pack with a scoville ratings from 1 to 1 million, delicious sweet peppers you won’t find anywhere else, and a rainbow of tomato & tomatillo varieties so big that it will turn even a tomater-hater into a fan!

Pasture Poultry & Pork Products

Before we were a farm, we were a family that wanted to raise the best meat possible to fill our freezer. So, we’ve had a few years to trial and error the best way to raise and process chicken and pork. Some things we are hoping to include in the future are chicken, broth kits, and our coveted Mangalitsa lard for baking, which we are saving exclusively for box customers!

Herbs

Each week there will be a “bouquet” of fresh herbs and a featured medicinal herb of the week. If pesto is your thing then you’re in luck, we have an entire bed dedicated to eight favorite basil varieties and our pesto recipe. Consider a bouquet add-on option if you love bouquets and want more color to partner with your herbs.

Garlic

Did you know there are many different types of garlic with a variety of purposes? There are two main categories: softneck and hardneck, and several subcategories of each. We grow a a little of everything: Artichoke and Silverskin softnecks and Porcelain, Purple Stripe, Rocambole hardnecks for a total of 10 different garlic varieties. Each has a unique flavor and purpose – from long term storage to grilling, baking, cooking, salsa making, etc. If you’re a garlic enthusiast (or you suddenly think you might want to be a garlic enthusiast), you’ve come to the right place.

Recipes

We know it can be a bit overwhelming to get a box with new foods you’ve never tried before. We provide a summary sheet of everything that’s included in the box with the names of the varieties so you can grow them yourself if you’d like to, as well as information about that variety and it’s health benefits. There are also several relevant recipe cards to give you a head start on ideas of how to utilize the items in the box and an herb spotlight card that gives the overview on the medicinal herb of the week, it’s properties, and how to use it.

Medicinal Herbs

We have really enjoyed expanding our knowledge of natural remedies and we’re excited to share that with you. Each week will feature a different medicinal herb. Some are common and can be foraged, some are rare and can only be grown or purchased. We will provide information about the herb and how to use it. Our hope is that you will be encouraged to try your hand at making tinctures and salves to add some natural remedies to your family’s medicine cabinet.

Market Bouquet Add-on

Bring the joy of beautiful fresh cut flowers to your table this summer! Each week will feature a different bouquet of colors and flowers that match the season. Market bouquet add-ons for our box customers are discounted and have no additional delivery fee, they are delivered alongside your box.
