Not so long ago, most families knew how to preserve food, bake real bread, and stock a pantry that could carry them through winter. Somehow, in the span of a few generations, those skills stopped being passed down — and we’ve been paying for it ever since. In grocery bills. In ingredients we can’t pronounce. In the quiet feeling that we should know how to do this.

It shouldn’t require years of research just to feed your family something real. But piecing it together on your own — the canning, the fermentation, the sourdough, the fats — is exactly as hard and overwhelming as it sounds.

Maybe you want to stop buying what you could be making. Maybe you want to know exactly what’s in your family’s food. Maybe you’ve always felt pulled toward a different way of living, and you’re ready to build the skills that make it real.

That’s exactly what Homemade All Year is built to teach.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Course Overview

Homemade All Year is made up of 6 courses, taught over the span of a year. They cover the traditional food and home skills most of us were never taught — delivered one month at a time, with video lessons, hands-on practice, and real support along the way. By the end of the year, you’ll have built a working foundation across every area below.

Fermentation & Gut Health Your gut biome influences your immune system, your mood, your energy, and more. You’ll learn to make immune-boosting ferments, kombucha, water kefir, fermented yogurt, and seasonal ferments that put that power to work for your family every single day.

➤ Sourdough & Ancient Grains Real bread — made from scratch, with ingredients you can actually pronounce. You’ll master sourdough from starter to loaf, then go deeper with home milling and baking with ancient grains for the most nutrient-dense bread possible.

➤ Food Preservation & Pantry A well-stocked pantry is one of the most practical things you can build for your family. You’ll learn water bath and pressure canning, cold storage, dehydrating, and how to stock a pantry that tastes good, lasts, and doesn’t rely on preservatives or excess sugar.

➤ Natural Fats & Home Goods The fats most families cook with every day are doing more harm than good. You’ll learn to source, render, and cook with natural fats — lard and tallow — and use them to make natural soaps & balms that are better for your skin than anything on a store shelf.

➤ Natural Health & Remedies In the last five years, our family of 13 has only been to the doctor a handful of times. You’ll learn to make medicinal herb remedies, poultices, and natural healing methods that keep your family well through every season.

➤ Backyard Chicken Keeping Our comprehensive guide to raising a self-sustaining flock for backyard eggs and meat — from hatching to processing.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Meet Amanda

The "hobbies" that healed us

In 2016, I was under a ton of stress and contracted strep eight times in one year. Round after round of antibiotics, my tonsils removed, and still — my health kept getting worse. By 28, I had heart and lymphatic problems, chronic back pain, I was gaining weight, and I was exhausted all the time. And it wasn’t just me — my kids kept getting sick too.

My husband Jake believed we could heal naturally. So we started researching, and at the same time, jumped headfirst into homesteading. As we swapped processed foods for homemade alternatives and learned about gut health, fermentation, and natural fats, the pendulum swung. My heart issues resolved. I lost weight. I had energy again. We stopped getting sick constantly.

What started as homesteading hobbies became the foundation of our family’s health.

The hard part was figuring it all out — nobody was teaching it in one place. I spent hundreds of hours researching, failing, and researching some more. I had 5 kids, 6 stepkids, and a full-time job. No farming background, never had a garden, and not a lot of time or money to waste.

I’ve been teaching these skills to families across the country for several years now. I know exactly how hard it is to piece this together on your own — and I know the cost of not doing it, in your grocery bill and in your family’s health. I built this course to give you everything I wish someone had handed me, without the years of trial and error.

FULL CURRICULUM

A Year of Skills, One Month at a Time

A year of learning broken into manageable lessons — with plenty of time to watch, implement, and ask questions before the next module arrives.

JUNE

Canning 101: Water Bath & Pressure Canning

The two biggest canning fears are botulism and the pressure canner exploding. In June, we cover water bath vs. pressure canning, how to make sure you never have to worry about either, essential canning tools (and the ones you don’t need), and our favorite recipe books. Then we go deep on canning fruits and jams without sugar or artificial preservatives — and how to pressure can meats, vegetables, and full meals that actually taste good.

JULY

Cold Storage, Dehydrating & Freezing

Learn how to set up cold storage as affordably as possible and how to cure storage crops so that they last through winter. You’ll also learn how to dehydrate foods and herbs, what foods are best for dehydrating, and how to buy meat directly from a farm by the whole or half — plus some of our favorite freezer meals.

AUGUST

Fermented Yogurts

Home-fermented yogurt is rich in a diversity of probiotics and beneficial bacteria, without the sugar and preservatives found in most commercial yogurts. This month, you’ll learn the simple, easy way to make your own fermented yogurt at home.

SEPTEMBER

Fermenting the Harvest

Your gut biome regulates your immune system, blood sugar, heart health, mood, digestion, and so much more. As harvest season begins, we share how to preserve the bounty and boost the gut biome with good bacteria and nutrients. Learn to make sauerkraut, apple cider vinegar, hot sauces, and more.

OCTOBER

Holistic Health & Healing

Learn to craft all of our most popular immune-boosting remedies that have become member favorites. Over the years, our community has consistently reported dramatic reductions in winter illness duration and frequency after incorporating these traditional remedies into their daily routine.

NOVEMBER

Medicinal Remedies

In the last five years, we can count on one hand the number of times our family of 13 has been to the doctor. This month you’ll learn to make medicinal herb remedies for year-round use, poultices for common ailments, and how to use natural healing methods like detox baths and sauna.

DECEMBER

Sourdough Made Simple

Learn what sourdough is, the science behind it, how to care for a starter the easy way, and the essential steps of making a loaf — including the “why” behind every step so you can troubleshoot when things go wrong. Members receive our dehydrated starter with a step-by-step rehydration tutorial.

JANUARY

Ancient Grains: Home Milling, Baking & Sourdough 2.0

Wheat contains 40 of the 44 essential nutrients our bodies need — most of which aren’t digestively accessible in modern flour. We walk you through the entire process: how to source grains, choose the right mill, bake with ancient grains so your recipes actually turn out, and make the most nutrient-dense sourdough possible.

FEBRUARY

Rendering & Using Animal Fats

The most commonly consumed fats in America do more harm than good. This month, members learn about lard and tallow — how to source them, how to render them down, how to make balms & lotions from them, and how to cook with them in a way that’s both nourishing and genuinely delicious.

MARCH

Fermented Drinks: Kombucha & Water Kefir

Store-bought kombucha is pasteurized — the beneficial bacteria are gone. Home-brewed kombucha is loaded with live cultures, and it tastes better too. Members receive a SCOBY starter this month and learn to make both kombucha and water kefir at home.

APRIL

Natural Soap Making

Building on March’s lessons, this month covers natural soap making with lard, tallow and natural dyes. We share our favorite soap recipes that are loaded with benefits for your skin without any harsh chemicals.

MAY

Food Security & Pantry Swaps

Over years of teaching, we’ve seen the same food security mistakes come up again and again. In May, we cover the essentials of food storage, how to stock a pantry that actually tastes good and is easy to use, our food storage planner in case of an emergency, and our favorite pantry swaps that help clean up your diet without sacrificing convenience.
